Weber Road Church of Christ

At Weber Road, we have over 300 individuals with many programs to teach and reach the saved and lost. Over 30 Bible classes are offered each week including our new college class! We also support many Mission works & Outreach Programs. Our Youth program promotes biblical values and helps build lifelong friendships. We have a great number of people in our youth group (and we're still growing). Most Sundays after evening worship, we get together for a devotional, and during the week we have many things for our teens. Check the Calendar for church events. Come if you can!

Our Elders at Weber Road are Brothers Grant Jackson, George Pledger, and Dale Alexander. Our Deacons include: Randy Calloway, Wayne Campbell, Jim Crowe, Bruce Elam, Justin Esslinger, Paul Eubanks, Art Gatica, Gary Hannah, Russell Hooten, and Manuel Mungia. To find out more about our church and its history, check out our History page. We wish to see you and your family here! We always greet our visitors with a warm welcome!

SUNNY GLEN UPDATE

We are pleased that $5,023 was contributed for gifts to the Children's Home. That's a little more than last year! Our annual church trip to the Home will be on Saturday, December 12th. We will leave in the vans and other vehicles at 8:00 AM and return in the late afternoon. Everyone should bring money for lunch since we will eat out with the children and families from the Children's Home. EVERYONE at Weber Road in invited to join us. Everyone is asked to stay after worship on Sunday evening, the 6th, to help wrap the gifts.

SHOULD I PURPOSE?

To purpose is simply "to aim, intend, resolve, or plan." All of us have aims and things we intend to do. We make plans and resolutions. So, we purpose in all of life.

  1. We purpose when we buy a home, a car, or anything whereby we must borrow money. When we sign our names we are purposing to pay the money back and are letting our intentions be known.

  2. We purpose when we use a charge card. Also, we make a promise to pay when we arrange for gas or electrical service in our homes. We do the same when we obtain telephone service.

  3. Churches purpose when they do these same things. They purpose and make their intentions known when they obtain men to preach the gospel, whether at home or in the mission field. They purpose when they promise to give so much a month or year to a children's home. It would be difficult to think of a church or individual that does not purpose in some way or other.

  4. We should purpose when we give. It seems strange that we accept purposing in other phases of life but have a problem when it comes to letting our intentions be known to the church. It is inconsistent to accept it in other areas and reject it in this one area alone.

  5. In addition to it being a matter of consistency, the Scriptures command us to purpose in our hearts (2 Cor. 9:7). That purpose can be made known to others for Paul said the Corinthians had let their intentions be made known for a year ahead (2 Cor. 8:10,11). In view of these matters, let us all carefully consider our blessings and plan our giving for the coming year. Please come prepared to sign your purpose card Sunday, December 13, so you can let the elders know of your intentions for the coming year.
